Boy, oh, boy! In a Facebook post, Carol Maraj, Nicki Minaj’s mom, hinted at the arrival of Minaj’s first child with Kenneth Petty. The couple welcomed a healthy boy on September 30th, which has since been confirmed by the rapper herself. In an Instagram post on October 14th, Minaj shared a number of well wishes from her famous friends, including Beyoncé, Kim and Kanye West, Italian fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, model Winnie Harlow, and Colombian singer and songwriter Karol G.

With so many of her fans speculating the sex of the child, Maraj made it clear by posting her daughter’s response from what looks like a 2012 interview from an unknown source:

“Wait, you don’t feel like you need a girl?
Yeah, ‘cause you think I’m going to dress her up in wigs. No [Laughs] I really need a boy in my life. A baby boy. Because…I’m so attached to my little brother and I felt that was my real son. And boys. They’re just so, I don’t know… My heart just melts when I see them.”

Thanks to Kanye West, his Yeezy team at Adidas and Dolce & Gabbana, the new parents received an assortment of baby shoes and apparel, making sure that baby Petty will be decked out in designer styles like his mama.
