Author, writer, educator Tanea Lunsford Lynx will host the show and lead a conversation about Black Imagination, vision, queerness, and the future of Black creativity.

NICOLE SHAWAN JUNIOR is a counter-storyteller whose work appears or is forthcoming in What Is a Criminal? (Routledge 2022), PEN America’s Handbook for Writers in Prison (Haymarket 2022), Emerge (Lambda Literary 2020), The Rumpus, SLICE Magazine, ZORA, Gay Mag, and elsewhere. Nicole’s received residencies and fellowships from Hedgebrook, PERIPLUS, Lambda Literary, and more. Jerome Hill Artist Fellowship, Hurston/Wright, Tin House, VONA, Carnegie Hall, and others have supported her literary art. She is the founder of Roots. Wounds. Words. (a literary arts revolution that serves BIPOC storytellers) and editor in chief of Black Femme Collective.

JADE WAY is a singer/songwriter and musician living in Oakland. From an early age, Jade had many teachers of classical, jazz, pop and RnB influence. Jade is the front-person of her band, Jade VELVET, where she cultivates the sounds of being lost and found in the Bay. She is currently producing her first full-band album project, titled TBD.

TAYLOR SIMONE HARVEY is a singer, songwriter, producer, and loop artist. Taylor is always working on Keep the Channel Open, a living project where she releases older demos, rehearsals, and whatever comes out of her creative process. Her next full length album Everybody’s On Stage is slated to be released in the fall. In every project, she endeavors to be as transparent and honest with her music as she can.

TANEA LUNSFORD LYNX is a fourth-generation Black San Franciscan on both sides. tanea is a writer, educator, and cultural worker. She has more than 10 years of experience as a performing artist, curator, activist, and educator in San Francisco. You can find her work online at tanealunsfordlynx.com.

Black Love was created in collaboration with Strut by Na’amen Gobert Tilahun, and Beatrice L. Thomas back in 2016 and Strut has been doing the performance series ever since!
